Our guides and checklists are very helpful for the writing process, what to include and what not to include, and how to write. I think it could be improved if we add some guidelines to who should be included as a coauthor vs. when to acknowledge them. For example, the conference abstracts checklist mentions authors opting in/out, but doesn't explicitly say how to choose/include coauthors. I think authorship can be tricky for new researchers to decide, and sometimes it isn't always super obvious.
I'm thinking something like https://casrai.org/credit/ could be a nice addition to our writing guides. Maybe we could link to this as a good practice in deciding coauthorship.
