I think the last example of sec.8.2.3 should be:

example : MvPolynomial.eval ![1, 0] circleEquation = 0 := by simp [circleEquation]

in order to be consistent with the text describing it:

We can evaluate it to make sure the point with coordinates (1,0) is on the circle.
