We're looking for developers who write software for embedded targets!

Have a board lying around? Create a demo project for it using DEM!

Expectations

  • Choose a processor and board type you'd like to create a Development Environment (Dev Env) for. It's okay to select a target that someone else has already covered if the toolset you're using is different. To avoid duplication, please share the exact target and tools you plan to use in your project.
  • Set up the Dev Env for your project. You can use existing container images or create your own by containerizing the necessary tools. The axem Open Registry already contains some tools, and we're happy to assist with containerization. Reference Dockerfiles can be found here.
  • Create a demo project for your target using the Dev Env.
  • Document your process in a technical blog post. We'll feature your content on axem’s website and social media!

Additional Information

  • After discussing your target and toolset, we will create a new issue specifically for you. Once you meet all the expectations, the issue will be marked as hacktoberfest-accepted.
  • If you're new to DEM, we recommend starting with our Tutorial to better understand how to create and use a Dev Env.
  • Host your demo project's repository on your GitHub or GitLab profile. Since we'll be sharing your project, this could give your profile added visibility.
  • We're here to support you at every step! Join our community and ask your questions there!
