The terminology of "key-value pairs" sounds like it comes from Go's structured logging. In Ballerina terminology, what you are providing is a mapping.

Ack. The term "key-value pairs" is coming from the current ballerina/log API design. See: https://central.ballerina.io/ballerina/log/2.10.0#printInfo. I guess it is too late to update the function signature :(
