red text about PS4 controller battery % popping up every few minutes, when no battery is present. #12269
Comments
it is a feature in the last 10% |
and even though i disabled any kind of battery alarm features in v40, it's not disabled when i use this controller thru USB, it still shows on the screen, anywhere, in regular Batocera menu, in the file manager, in games... Also, since PS3 controller support seem to be new on Batocera, i tried a PS3 controller in USB, and it seem to be ok. It does still have the battery inside, so that might be why it's not displaying a battery level. But i really want to use the PS4 controller instead. |

Issue description
The red battery notification in the new Batocera 40 (x86_64)? is very annoying, it shows 5% battery even though it's directly plugged in the USB. I supposedly disabled all battery notifications, but it still appears.
It pops up once every few minutes, on the upper left corner, even while playing games.
I normally use a PS4 controller using a USB cable, and i removed the battery inside, so maybe this is why Batocera is freaking out with that new notification in version 40.
It wasn't a problem in v39, it's a new thing that i can't seem to disable in v40.
Note: i have removed the battery from the PS4 controller because the wireless on it doesn't work anymore, and i did not wanted to risk the battery leaking inside someday, and i wanted to remove weight as well at the same time.
Detailed reproduction steps
Use a PS4 controller with the battery removed inside, use a USB cable to plug it directly on the computer. The message should appear every few minutes randomly, even during games.
Details of any attempts to fix this yourself
I tried to disable any kind of notification in Batocera about the controller battery or any kind of notification or on-screen help, but it doesn't help at all.
Details of any modifications you have made to Batocera.
i have not modified anything in Batocera.
