PDF is rendered as bitmap on ubuntu 16.04

Problem

The service creates a nice PDF file with selectable texts and clickable links on my development machine
but running it on a virtual machine creates a 4x larger file and text and links cannot be clicked or highlighted

It may be related to node version. I'll try out to run it with the same version as production
Is there a setting that should be enabled so that the page is rendered the same

Development

• Windows 10 x64
• node 6.11.3

Production

• Ubuntu Server 16.04 x64
• node v8.9.0

Having the fonts locally and removing imports from external url fixed the issue

Yes, I think it is a font issue.
