Improvements to the website

I've been on my Hey That Website I Could Improve It arc (adding formatters and dying to the number of changes required or Minor Style Error changes) recently, and I was looking through the HTMX website. I found a few oddities such as the docs sidebar alignment on mobile, the search bar UX, mistyped GitHub sponsor logo import that breaks until building (build step jank?) and basically all the files under www/.

I was wondering If I could, perchance, 👉👈 try and improve the entire website if no one else is working on it?

Concerns

I'm unsure whether the current website's jank nature is part of the aesthetic of HTMX or just from hacking it together. I have done a preliminary check over a bunch of the files and found that a lot of things have been intentionally left or modified to be more as jank such as making the titles lowercase which was done by an anonymous (the repo owner's alt) user named carson. Hi carson!

If the website was intended to be super evil and make people have an aneurysm upon opening the source code, the changes I'm looking to make wouldn't really work out.

General list of changes considered

• Adding a formatter (prettier or maybe Biome (it has some hype around it so it must be good!)
• Formatting the entire thing (just the website unless you'd like to sift a 40,000 diff)
  • Dear god, the CSS...
• Add a format command so y'all can be lazy as hell
  • Maybe add Husky pre-commit hooks if we want to be super strict? Probably not, though...
• Changing the styles to be in the style files or like idk not inlined
• More semantic elements (SEO MAXXING BROTHER)
  • I am dying to the amount of <div> elements
• Removing dead pages (why is there still the merge dreg endpoint to reference.md?)

Additional Notes

I made this in the Discussions section because I didn't see anything like a community Discord slapped in any large sections I just found the discord while looking for the webring link and I don't use Twitter (never calling that X) so I'm not familiar with the who and why of this project as much.

If I'm totally catching the vibes wrong here and this idea fundamentally clashes with the idea of HTMX, that's totally fine!
