"Restart" hangs up and has to push power button to shut 3440 down. "Shut Down" works properly. "Sleep" is not working either.

Try disable Deep Sleep in the BIOS.

Tried and the issues appear to be persistent. 3440 was able to go into "Sleep" but upon waking up it just restarts itself. When initiating "Restart", everything seems to go 'dark' but it would not come back. One more observation, when installing Big Sur, the system hanged up at the "Restart" stage as well, had to push power button and restart manually. Nevertheless the installation pushed through. Attached is the error msg when installing "IOPlatformHaltRestartAction -> AppleSMC".

Hello, bournesup. Have you solved the reboot problem for 3440?

Did you find a solution for the reboot problem on 3440?
BTW the EFI provided here for the 3240 does not work OOB with the 3440, so I started from 0 and everything else looks good, but the restart.
