[HW Accel Support]: Rotating streams using HW acceleration on AMD - not possible?

Describe the problem you are having

Trying to rotate H264 streams using hw acceleration fails with ffmpeg throwing a message "vaapi driver doesn't support transpose". I tried this both on a 2400G with a vega 11 igpu as well as on another pc with a Radeon RX 6600 graphics card. From googling it's a bit difficult to understand, but is the consensus that AMD does not support transpose / rotation of a video stream? Or are there any workarounds..? Was considering getting a ryzen 5 8600G. The same config on an intel 14600K igpu works fine however.

it means the GPU you are using does not support it, it is possible newer hardware does support it

Yeah, that was kind of understood. But interested to know if anyone else has rotation working on any AMD platform (especially 8000 or 9000 series igpu) with hardware acceleration, or if AMD simply does not support that. Or, if there are some requirements when it comes to kernel or driver.
