Originally opened as adobe/brackets#12656

I downloaded the MSI installer from brackets.io on my Windows 10 machine, and received the Brackets.Release.1.7.msi installer. When running this installer either by double clicking on it, or by running msiexec command from Powershell as Administrator I get the attached error, I am unable to find any logs or get any additional information that might provide insight into what the problem is.

Let me know if I can provide any additional information.

Could you take a look at this comment so to be able to provide a log?

Running the command msiexec /i .\Brackets.Release.1.7.msi /l*v brackets_log.txt returns the attached .txt file

I found this thread http://stackoverflow.com/questions/538229/problems-with-windows-installer-package
Can you try downloading again the installer?
Unfortunately I cannot help more...

Unfortunately re-downloading the 1.7 installer and I tried the 1.6 installer did not solve the problem. I wonder if it's just an issue with my machine or if it's a Windows wide issue? I don't have access to another Windows device to test this theory.
