Hi this excellent piece of software has solved me lots of times, just listing out the hierarchy tells me what is wrong and not.

Thank you for reporting how useful the library has been for you!

But I am not, alas, a Python core developer, so I am not in a position to add this module to the Python Standard Library. I suspect that you will need to open an issue at https://bugs.python.org/ to start discussion. I will note that the only previous discussion of the library there:

https://bugs.python.org/issue17855

— did not produce any interest in merging logging_tree into the Standard Library. But maybe feelings will have changed in the interim? It is certainly easier to maintain and add features to the library (though those are coming pretty rarely at this point) as an independent project than it would be if it were merged into the Standard Library.

(Closed this for a moment since there’s no action to take; but then re-opened it because it’s a fun issue to have listed!)
