We could tune results by having multiple fields with different analyzers and rank on most of them as described here.

For instance, we could have the following:

It has produced lots of false positives due to partial matches in the
gene description.

Better handling of synonyms (refs bst-mug#96) and matches in fields with
different analyzers (refs bst-mug#97) could help.
