Proposal for implementation of mining veins for ore, rock types and whatever.
Essentially the discussion boiled down to two proposals that would likely want to be implemented together.
A randomization method of some kind for mapgen so that caves and other locations can have some of their rock wall terrain be replaced with ore tiles, or limestone or similar.
Ore veins that extend in a few directions from the dead ends of mines, to make the mines actual places you can mine and give them more purpose than relic farming. The ore veins/rock types would likely need to be considered by depth, we'll see how this works out.
