Creating Wires for Tricont Pumps

This tutorial will guide you in creating the necessary wires for Tricontinent pumps.

Creating the USB serial cable

First, start off with the serial cable: Alt text Alt text

Next, remove the male connection and strip the wire like so: Alt text

You want to select the following cables:

  • Red
  • Purple
  • Brown
  • Yellow

You can cut the rest of the cables to make room: Alt text

Strip the ends of the 4 cables: Alt text

Add 4 male connectors to the stripped cables like so and secure them in place: Alt text

Add a connector cover: Alt text

Finally, secure with shrink tubing: Alt text

That's it for the USB Serial cable!

##Tricont Plug Creation This plug will have the following connections:

  • Power supply connection
  • USB connection
  • "Daisy Chain" connection - For connecting multiple Tricont Pumps

First, start off with the bare essentials of the plug: Alt text Alt text

Next, obtain the appropriate wires:

  • 2x Red Wires
  • 2x Green Wires
  • 2x Blue Wires
  • 1x Yellow Wire
  • 3x Black Wires Alt text

Strip both ends of the wires: Alt text

Next, you want to put the wires in the appropriate slot in the connector:

  • 2x Red Wires in Slot 1
  • 1x Green Wire in Slot 2
  • 1x Blue Wire in Slot 3
  • 1x Yellow Wire in Slot 4
  • 2x Black Wires in Slot 9
  • 1x Black Wire in Slot 10
  • 1x Green Wire in Port 11
  • 1x Blue WIre in Port 12

Solder these wires in place: Alt text

Add shrink tubing: Alt text

The next step is to add the relevant connectors to the ends of the wire:

  • Power Connection:
    • 1x Red (Slot 1)
    • 1x Black (Slot 9)
    • Female connectors
  • USB Connection:
    • 1x Green (Slot 2)
    • 1x Blue (Slot 3)
    • 1x Yellow (Slot 4)
    • 1x Black (Slot 10)
    • Female connectors
  • "Daisy Chain" Connection:
    • 1x Red (Slot 1)
    • 1x Black (Slot 9)
    • 1x Green (Slot 11)
    • 1x Blue (Slot 12)
    • Male connectors

Next, add the appropriate connector covers: Alt text

Next, secure the cables in the plug frame: Alt text

Add the screws: Alt text

Add the top of the plug frame and screw in place: !Alt text

You're done!

##Daisy Chain Plug Creation:

This plug will have the following connections:

  • Male "Daisy Chain" connection
  • Female "Daisy Chain" connection

First, start off with the bare essentials of the plug: Alt text Alt text

Next, obtain the appropriate wires:

  • 2x Red Wires
  • 2x Black Wires
  • 2x Green Wires
  • 2x Blue Wires

Strip both ends of the wires like so: Alt text

Next you want to place the wires in the relevant slots in the plug:

  • 2x Red Wires in Slot 1
  • 2x Black Wires in Slot 9
  • 2x Green Wires in Slot 11
  • 2x Blue Wires in Slot 12

Solder these in place: Alt text

Add shrink tubing: Alt text

Now add the connectors to the ends of the wires:

  • Female Connector:
    • 1x Red Wire
    • 1x Black Wire
    • 1x Green Wire
    • 1x Blue Wire

Do the same for the other 4 wires using male connectors: Alt text

To the male connectors, add a relevant cover: Alt text

Do the same for the female connectors: Alt text

Secure the wires in the plug frame: Alt text

Add the screws: Alt text

Finally, add the top of the plug frame and screw in place: Alt text

That's it!
