Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Mention a user (e.g., @dabakovich).
  2. Attempt to remove the tag by deleting or backspacing.
  3. Observe that the @ tag persists and cannot be removed.

Expected Behavior:
The @ tag should be removable upon user action, allowing the deletion of the mentioned user tag without any display issue.
For Ex:
@dabakovich = Not correct
dabakovich = correct one

Please help @dabakovich @hyze2d
