Wanda Wants Watermelons: ??

Oh, hello! It appears that you've decided to open up my CS50 Final Project. Maybe you're wondering what it is. Maybe you aren't. If you're in the latter group of people, that's alright, no harm done. Just move on to the next one. Hope to see you again soon!

If you're still reading, I assume that you'd like to know more, either because you've been forced to grade my project, or because you're a creepy stalker, or maybe—hopefully—because you actually want to see what I've done!

Wanda Wants Watermelons is a game written in Lua with LÖVE. LÖVE is a framework for making 2D games in the programming language Lua. LÖVE is a great place to start making games because the program is as complex as the programmer makes it (you can make a simple, functional game in 200 lines), and there's a lot of helpful documentation.

My game is pretty simple: you, Wanda, want watermelons. Don't argue with me; you want all the melons: bananamelons, pearmelons, applemelons. After you express your desire to have watermelons, you'll be sent to a minigame to collect said fruits. Because we love melons.

Okay...so like, how do I run your game?

In order to run the game, you need to download the game files (this folder). You also need to download LÖVE. Then, drag and drop this folder onto the love.exe or a shortcut to love.exe. Ta-da! It should work (if it doesn't work, troubleshoot here).

And how do I play this game? Because your game doesn't really have instructions...

Sorry about that. I'm saving that for the next iteration of the game. On the tile selection page of the game, the only thing you're allowed to do is click on the tiles with fruits or words on them in any order you want. After you start the minigame, use the arrow keys to move Wanda. Enjoy.
