add lobbyist expenditures and contributions to search? #146
Comments
Not a huge lift, but probably 1-2 hours. I say we save it for another chunk. My reasoning behind linking out from attributes like the "Paid to" column is that the search page can help find entities that are described in free text fields. So in this case, I would expect the user to want to click on "Zia Park Casino" to try to find if there are any candidates, PACs, or lobbyist employers named "Zia Park Casino" (unlikely, in this case). I don't expect that adding contributions and expenditures to the search page would help with that problem, but maybe you're imagining a different workflow for this interaction than I am? |
Ok. Let's save it for next time. I agree doing a global search for 'Zia Park Casino' would be useful. It would be nice to have the lobbyist expenditures & contributions turn up as well on the search page. |
Would it be difficult to add lobbyist expenditures and lobbyist contributions as explicit types?
If we had that, search links from the lobbyist detail pages could have the category selected. I think that may get closer to the behavior I expect when clicking on links like these:
