2 viable options for the researcher collecting spectrum data are available:

A) import a python package (shared library is bound to python package)

• user can make a program, script, or use an interactive session
• user can use the package in other locations
• others can clone the package and reproduce/validate the data
• integration with other processing and telemetry tools will be easier
• user can configure the device and let it operate without being present + remote control is easier

B) use an interactive script (shared library is only bound to functions of interest)

• only good if someone plans to monitor the data acquisition
• very rigid, not suitable for the development of more complex programs
• portability is minimal
