Reducing / changing output

I've tried in the past to trim down output a bit and be consistent with the format (punctuation, etc.), but I still think DKMS prints too much useless information.

This is the output of my system after removing 2 old kernels. DKMS modules installed are evdi, xpadneo and xone (xone has multiple kernel modules):

I would like to reduce it to max 1 or 2 lines for each module, I don't think we need to print if we are running depmod in the background or anything like that. To be honest I don't really think it should print anything unless called with verbose or a similar mode.

Ideally I would like to have an output similar to dkms status. I'll paste some ideas here.

Fully agree with all sentiments - it's far too verbose and (re)moving most makes sense.

I'm cautious since I don't know how many people have hacky scripts that depends on the above output. Hence my inclination to maybe keep bunch of it (as opposed to removing it) behind a verbose flag.

I already changed the output from module, version to module/version when running dkms status to ease copy/paste when rebuilding/reinstalling modules and also already reduced the output by formatting it a bit more consistently, so I think that's not really an issue.

I really like the above, one* notable suggestion though. Please keep the original dkms status output and let people opt-in the new one - say "dkms status --pretty" or "dkms pretty-status" or ...

Multiple scripts depend on the format of dkms status and changing it will break the world or the Arch hook.sh at the very least.

Aside: Checking/porting the Arch script into dkms itself is on my TODO list, but feel free to steal that from me.
