Fully agree with all sentiments - it's far too verbose and (re)moving most makes sense. I'm cautious since I don't know how many people have hacky scripts that depends on the above output. Hence my inclination to maybe keep bunch of it (as opposed to removing it) behind a verbose flag. |

I've tried in the past to trim down output a bit and be consistent with the format (punctuation, etc.), but I still think DKMS prints too much useless information.
This is the output of my system after removing 2 old kernels. DKMS modules installed are
evdi
,xpadneo
andxone
(xone
has multiple kernel modules):I would like to reduce it to max 1 or 2 lines for each module, I don't think we need to print if we are running
depmod
in the background or anything like that. To be honest I don't really think it should print anything unless called with verbose or a similar mode.Ideally I would like to have an output similar to
dkms status
