It seems there are a number of issues with the temperatures that stops them from showing except under certain circumstances.

On a new Gigabyte board with a Ryzen CPU, no temperatures are shows - regardless of what I see in 'sensors' output.

It would be nice if we could select which temperature sensors to be displayed.

This way, if you know your CPU sensor, you can select it manually if it is not detected.

An optional label may be a nice touch to add multiple sensors to the display output (my mainboard has 6 + the CPU temp sensor!)

I have a very old Toshiba A15, and Simple Monitor fails to show the CPU temps for me too.

I can get temp readings by using sensors from CLI, but Simple Monitor doesn't show any. Is there a configuration file where I need to turn on this feature? In the preferences dialog it mentions that you can use "sensors" to put information in the temp monitor, but it doesn't explain how someone could do that. I have read the readme.md but that doesn't mention this feature.

Thanks for any help that can be offered. Simple Monitor has replaced other monitoring plasmoids because of it looks so much nicer than some of the other options. Great job on the design and presentation.
