How can I return a list or array in a JSON schema?

All the samples I can find seem to result in the LLM returning a single thing, profile, person, character in a JSON format. I want to return a list. Example "Provide 5 characters with the provided schema" and I should get an array of JSON objects back (or a JSON object back, that has a property of type ARRAY of Character objects..
