New mode that auto-detects if black bars to trigger Upscale? #96

Hello @sheffieldnick and thank you for using UltraWideo. I have a package that I made back then: Aspecter and I assume I can do this by using this and checking the width/height of the screen and then determine if I should automatically do upscale or not. But what happens if someone prefers stretch? I assume it'd be the best of there was autodetect feature where user can pick the option upscale or stretch, which would be applied if auto-detect mode is on. Either one or the other. Not sure, but it's something to think about and test - to see if possible. Thanks for the request, I'll consider it. Kind regards, |

This will be a Pro feature when I get to all of the implementation details before the feature itself. But keep in mind that I haven't forgotten about it and will add it to the new repository plan list. |

New user of UltraWideo and I'm loving it so far, really useful :)
Is it possible to have an additional mode that auto-detects if a fullscreen video has black bars top+bottom, and only goes into Upscale mode if they are there? That way you could leave it on all the time, instead of manually switching mode each time. This would be especially useful when watching a sequence of shorter videos with different aspect ratios (eg, YouTube), rather than say a single long movie.
I presume it would need a neat algorithm to reduce the CPU load, and only auto-detect infrequently, rather than checking every frame.
Many thanks
