I think I still like idea of events being independent, and optional bi-directional link to events/

I think I might actually remove title/description from calendar altogether and just use it as rich decoration to discussions like polls, etc...

I'm unsure what this issue was about, but I think events and discussions indeed need to be independent.

Bidirectionnal links would be very cool, like being able to customize the "More information on this event" link to point to a Flarum discussion (instead of pointing to a full-screen version of the event) would be awesome. This way, there is two ways to do stuff :

  • the event itself can provide all needed informations and not link to anything else
  • or the event can provide little details, like title, date and a short description, and then let users click on "More information" and be redirected to the Flarum discussion to know everything, like an extensive description, the entire event planning, how to participate, what public transit is available to get there, etc.

The full-screen display of the event can be useful too, since it provides a direct link to a specific event, so I think it should be kept, but maybe under a different link/button. For example a "Share this event" button could copy event's URL to the clipboard.

Additionally, when creating/editing a discussion, an action button "Create event" could be added, which opens up this extension's dialog to create an event and automatically links the event to the discussion being created.
