What Happened?

When pairing my bluetooth Microsoft Designer Keyboard to elementary OS through switchboard-plug-bluetooth, this prompt is shown:

Screenshot from 2021-12-18 21 08 28

This 'confirm passkey matches' is incorrect as keyboards cannot display passkeys. This prompt also does not instruct users on how to proceed (the user should, of course, type the pin on the keyboard and press enter, which is nowhere mentioned).

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Pair a bluetooth keyboard
  2. A 'DISPLAY_PASSKEY' prompt is shown

Expected Behavior

A 'DISPLAY_PIN_CODE' prompt is shown which explains to the user what to do next in order to pair the bluetooth keyboard.

OS Version

6.x (Odin)

Software Version

Latest release (I have run all updates)

Log Output

No response

Hardware Info

Keyboard: Microsoft Designer Keyboard
