What Happened

After a system reboot, the output device is reset to the first device

Expected Behavior

After a system reboot, the output device remains at the previous selection

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open 'Sound settings' form wingpanel indicator or open sound settings from 'System settings'.
  2. Change output device
  3. Reboot system
  4. Output device not remembered

Platform Information

  • Elementary OS 5.1.7 Hera
  • Linux 5.4.0-72-generic

please add this on priority since I have to adjust the microphone source every time I plug/unplug. It doesn't remember which option was selected before and tries to use headphone/headset microphone no from the system. Also, the microphone volume slides itself from high to low. Is this AI/ML stuff I'm not aware of?
