The sound notification icon on my Elementary OS sometimes disappears. This issue happens intermittently and is temporarily resolved by restarting certain system components. Particularly, this issue is more likely to occur when adjusting the volume while playing a video in fullscreen mode.
Temporary Fix:
Running the following commands temporarily resolves the issue, but it reoccurs after some time:
killall gala && gala --replace &
or
sudo systemctl restart lightdm
Steps to Reproduce
Boot up the system.
Play a video in fullscreen mode.
Adjust the volume (increase or decrease).
Notice that the sound notification icon may disappear from the system tray and never appear, even when I reboot the system.
Expected Behavior
The sound notification icon should remain visible and functional in the system tray at all times.
