Currently there is no good way to tell what node backs an API.

api.Version could have an additional field, e.g. NodeType, which would say lotus for lotus, forest for Forest, and maybe [source],gateway when running as a gateway.

The http-api equivalent of this is user-agent. Based on our triage this seems fairly easy to implement. Is this something that you want to work on @magik6k, given that this is a request from Curio specifically?
