Hi all, I just wanted to share with you all, especially new users like myself, that the Sidekick 64, using the Pi3a anyway (like mine) will NOT boot if you have a datasette connected to your Commodore 64.
Recently, I became re-interested in my Commodore collection, as winter approaches I suppose, and dug out my C64 and Sidekick64. It had been quite some time since i had used it last, i kinda forgot how. When starting it up i couldn't get it to load up. I contacted the seller whom i purchased the device from via private message, he was kind to reply and give some advice, pointing to out of date firmware. After several attempts & different methods, I started remembering something about one of the peripherals being non-compatible. One by one i disconnected the devices and restarted the SD64 each time afterward. Finally, the screen came to life with SD's boot menu after the datasette was disconnected!
Hope this helps out anyone who might be experience trouble, and hope the dev's figure out a work around for this.
