I am ready and willing to test this out on my battery doorbell. |

Looks like I had an issue trying to add the new integration |

It is not an integration, it is an add on, follow steps from 'custom add on' of readme file, but just use this address |

Any way to install this on Home Assistant Docker? We cannot install Add Ons in the Container version! |

This integration requires minimum 1 add on and optionally you need a secondary one. If your question is about mandatory one, can you create a separate issue to track this, I will try to answer your question from there. I want to keep this discussion about secondary add on. |

I just mean the RTSP add on, I've got the other integration running fine :) One separate thing I have also noticed btw is that the eufy app's motion detection feature stops working when the integration and P2P stream is running. |

use below command if you can run docker, otherwise check this: https://github.com/aler9/rtsp-simple-server#standard |

Great idea but so far all I get is:
This occurs when I try to open the camera stream in lovelace. All I did is install/start the addon and replace the custom component with the one from the zip. Did I miss any step? I have a T8200 (wired doorbell) |

Do you see any errors in rtsp server add on logs? Do you call start_livestream service manually or you just click on camera image on lovelace? |

I clicked on the camera in lovelace and I did not see any logs in the addon. It seems like the custom component is not even talking to the addon. |

To be sure that this is not an issue of rtsp of doorbell, can you call start_livestream service directly? |

Now I get The service "Eufy Security: Start Live Stream over P2P" does not log anything. Also no image in lovelace. But the timeout error is still there when I open it in lovelace:

Please enable excessive logging and share them over here. This showed the error but not the history of it. I have updated troubleshooting section of README file how to do it. |

Here are the (hopefully) relevant logs from HA startup:
It goes on with lots of further video_thread logs |

Yes they are helpful but they look like old version, it is still using file based, you can see it Are you sure you have downloaded zip file, extracted into correct folder and restarted it? |

Turned out I had to remove the custom component from HACS before unzipping the zip file. Seems like HACS somehow always falls back to the one I installed before. So here we go.
Later on I get the timeout exception:
Running the RTSP start livestream service just gives the following logs:
This is expected for RTSP I assume since my doorbell doesn't have that. Running the P2P start livestream service gives the following logs:
No logs visible on the addon |

After restarting my doorbell and theeufy addon (not the rtsp one) I got this:
but no video and home assistant becomes super-unresponsive |

I have updated the mainline integration to include both file based and rtsp based streaming and reflected necessary steps in README file, Please take a look at it and create an issue if you are not able to solve it. |

Hi all,
I would like to bring an important topic into discussion. You might notice that non-RTSP based cameras are difficult to manage, configure, debug from integration perspective and main reason for me is using file based video output. Also, there are some left over files across Home Assistant folders which I am having hard time to clean. What I am going to describe below will be valid for non-RTSP based cameras but everyone is welcome to participate.
I have modified the integration and it will require you to install another new docker
RTSP Simple Server
so incoming video chunks will be forwarded to add on and video streaming will be watched over RTSP. More importantly, I see a huge improvement in streaming latency, 12 secs vs 6 secs. Why I would like to discuss this with you; I want to deprecate the support of file based streaming and everyone to install this add on. I will not remove existing functionality of file based streaming but I also will not put time to investigate it. Users who want to stick with file based streaming need to debug on their own and solve the problem. All code changes are welcome into repository.
Now, it is your turn, shoot
If you want to go ahead and test it, please follow: https://github.com/fuatakgun/eufy_security/blob/master/README.md#rtsp-simple-server-add-on
