I'm assuming autocorrect got you on "bluehelp23*" and you meant mcepg3-x where '3' represents Win8 and 'x' is the iteration number of the database (starting at 0). If you want to clear out all the old databases and start back over with the first iteration of a new database...

In regard to your response -- a big Thank You !
However, I had to use version 1.6.5.1 rather than 1.8.0.6 on a target Win
8.1 (64 bit) as I could not determine how to download from your GitHub
repository

As I am in the UK, there is no data under ‘SourceName’ or ‘SelectedLineup’
Step 0.WMC was *not* started
Step 1. Only EPG Client installed
Step 2. Step 1 completed
Step 3. Restore (under Database Utilities)
Step 4. Using file explorer went to c;\Programdata\Microsoft\ehome
Could still see ‘mcepg3-9’ rather than required see ‘mcepg3-0’
Is this because using wrong/old version -- how to download latest version?
Or have I not followed your instructions

1. In the EPG123 Client, click the [Client Setup] button. This will
perform a backup of your current WMC configurations (tuners, favorites,
channels, and recording requests) and delete everything in the eHome folder.
2. Once Step 1 is complete, you can close WMC and cancel the Client
Setup routine.
3. Click the [Restore] button and select the backup zip file created
in Step 1.
4. Everything should be restored at this point, so just import your
guide listings.

You can download the latest setup file from https://garyan2.github.io/download.html. Step 1 will open WMC automatically but hide it until Step 1 is complete and you proceed to Step 2. If it failed to delete any of the database and or empty the database folders, it should have prompted you to try again. Take a look at the log file at c:\programdata\garyan2\epg123\trace.log for any errors when it was trying to delete the files. If it is just not working for you, you can reboot your computer in safe mode and delete the files/folders manually. Your photo did not come through in the post, but not sure what you mean by no data under SourceName or SelectedLineup. If you have WMC setup and running, when you first open WMC you should see all your tuner channels and lineups that exist in the database. Being in the UK doesn't affect anything. When the client starts the Client Setup, it will disconnect from the database and everything will "disappear" until that process is complete. |

am having little succes !
using you latest release
picture 10 shows ehome directory at both start & finish
mcepg3-0 has been renamed as mmepg3-0 so as to highlight if new variant
generated
WMC was stopped
pictures 1- 8 show the steps that took
step 9 was to use all backups to little avail

starting again
rebuilt system - retuned WMC tv signal/tuner -- got 133 stations
tested this -- all function except for mcepg3-8 present -- wish to go back
to mcepg3-0
closed WMC
Wish to reset the WMC database*. *EPG123 was located

Select ‘Client Setup’ and then ‘step 1’ , retuned WMC tv signal/tuner --
got 133 stations close WMC and then proceeded to step 2

Not sure how you could still have mcepg3-8.db present. It deleted all the database files and cleared the registry that tracks the iteration number. The new database created should have restarted at 0. \HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\EPG If the registry value is not present, it is "0" for mcepg3-0.db. Yes, mcepg3-10 is fine as far as I know. It doesn't matter what the filename is. |

using the above tool, the first panel (left habd side) shows a wealth of
data [that I like ! ]
however I is lost
I select a line,
then type ctrl+A select all -- it works
then type ctrl+C to copy all
then I go to notepad++ type ctrl+V to insert all data --- this does
not produce/change
the notepad++ display
so , am I ding the wrong thing ? your advice/help would be appeciated

1) when running on Windows 10 there is nought under the titles of Service
Name, Subscribed LineUp, or Guide
2) using the screen copy to clipboard (windows 8.1) the data when placed
into note++
does not appear to be the same in content
3) in this note++ screen how can I locate the musical beam note (DAB
indication)
4) is there a way to determine signal/noise (quality) of the signal and
that of strength
5) how is the tuner port selected (I have 3 different tuners)

Please can you help. ?
I am having difficulty with editing my channel list.
On 1st November the channel list was edited to remove the 3 “Great +1”
stations.
On Sunday 5th November the “Select 5” channel was similarly remove and the
t3 “Great +1” stations
Were checked as inactive.
Sunday night, the pc was switched on, channel list checked, the 4
channels were not present !
On Monday 6th November the 4 channels were not present !
HOWEVER on Tuesday 7th November, lo & behold, the 4 channels were present
again ! the 4 channels were not present
My notes say :-

3.how to close EPG123client rather than just close window/form
4. wording of my note

the mcpepg files have names like bluehelp23*,
the 3 represents windows 8
the 9 represets the10 version
how can the version be forced back to 0 but using the data of bluehelp23*
