I'm trying this on Windows 10.

List of issues that need to be resolved so that GZ8 can be installed according to the tutorial:

• Correct spelling of Python variable in CMake sdformat#1319
• Fixed pkgconfig files (mostly on Windows) conda-forge/libzip-feedstock#37
• Figure out if VS2022 can also be used (it is the default suggested for download)
• Improve Windows Installation instructions docs#381
• Uniform Windows builds with Unix ones and cleanup conda-forge/libzip-feedstock#40
• Remove Libs.private from .pc file  conda-forge/libzip-feedstock#43
• Fixed build on MSVC gz-rendering#897

Related, but not blockers:

• (blocks rendering-ogre2 runtime) gz sim -g fails on Windows with error "wglMakeCurrent failed: The pixel format is invalid." gz-sim#2089
• (not finding ogre2 is not a big problem, it doesn't work anyways) Fixed finding Ogre2 on Windows+Conda. gz-cmake#384
• (GUI is not very well supported anyways without workarounds) Fix plugin filter on Windows gz-gui#567

Hit by gazebosim/sdformat#1319 . But a fix should be coming. Manually fixing it makes sdformat compilable.

Requires a new conda release of libzip: conda-forge/libzip-feedstock#37 .

Workaround:

conda install libzip=1.9.2 --channel conda-forge

All code-level changes were merged. I've tested now with the newest branches and was able to compile and run Gazebo according the the (not yet merged) updated tutorial.
