With smartphones being omnipresent in today’s world, it’s easy to take them for granted. Unfortunately, there are a number of people who find modern smartphones either too confusing or too difficult to use. Elderly people are prone to being left behind as they find it hard to adapt to rapidly changing technology.
This repository, aims to a developed Android Launcher specifically for them. This launcher is aimed to enhance the interaction of elder people with smartphones and make their day-to-day tasks easier with smartphone.
This application has a very simple graphical interface with large, legible letters/icons that will support the following:
- display time and date
- show battery pointer with big icon
- display one to six names corresponding to relatives using a corresponding number of buttons that when pressed will make a phone call
- button which when pressed will show the user's phone number
- button that when pressed will show the user's current location
- button to quickly open the camera
- button to quickly open photos
- button to quickly open messages
