Custom icon not displayed

I created a new service Nexterm, but the relevant icon is not displayed.

Have you restarted container after adding icon? Images are only loaded on start...
Are you sure that image format is really .png? Many time I downloaded logos from internet with specific extension and later it turned out that it wa just extension and real format was different :-(

I'm having exactly the same issue. No matter how many times i restarted the container is still not loading local images.
I can see the images doing a docker exec sh in the proper folder, so the container is reading it from host, but then when configuring the yaml icons are not displayed.
I've tried different paths like /icons/image.png, /app/icons/image.png and nothing seems to work

Have the same problem. Icon is shown in the browser when using the direct url to the file. Did a stop and start of the stack (I use Portainer). Nothing changed. All other external icons for services are shown as expected.

Using a custom background image works.

Have you tried to get into the container and ensure the image is being passed into the container?

Yes, the directory was mounted correctly. However, I forgot to set the permissions on the files correctly, so the container couldn't read them correctly.

Thanks for the tip anyway, it helped me find my mistake.

something is not right with the custom icons loading.

If you download an icon from https://github.com/walkxcode/dashboard-icons/tree/main/png and copy it to /app/public/icons/ then it works fine.
But an icon of the same size in png or svg that I have created wont load. (I have tried different formats)

the same icon file that won't load from /icons/ loads fine if I uploaded to a S3 public bucket and reference its url instead!!

There is nothing wrong with local icons. I suggest people here read the docs carefully (see screenshot below), problems almost always come down to user error.

My issue was the icons folder permissions were too permissive i.e. 777. I moved the file to a folder with 755 permissions and it's all good now.

OK 755 (drwxr-xr-x)

Not OK 777 (rwxrwxrwx)
