Monitor non self hosted Minecraft server

Description

Is it possible to monitor a non self hosted minecraft server? ive tried using the following widget

widget:
type: minecraft
url: udp://minecraftserveripordomain:port

However get the error "API Error: Unexpected token 'I', "Internal S"... is not valid JSON" i've tried with my sub domain and with the ip provided including port but they both return the error
