How to filter breadcrumbs for exact incoming HTTP request? (Node.js, express)

Hi, in my Node.js http server app i use express and @sentry/node

In Sentry, the error that relates to the processing of a specific incoming request contains a lot of breadcrumbs that relate to other incoming requests

How can i group breadcrumbs by incoming request to use the "Filter By" option in web view?

Hey, to make sure that breadcrumbs are isolated, the use of the express request handler is required: Sentry.Handlers.requestHandler. See our docs for more details.

To filter out breadcrumbs, you can use the beforeBreadcrumb callback in the SDK. https://docs.sentry.io/platforms/node/guides/express/enriching-events/breadcrumbs/#customize-breadcrumbs

This hook is passed an already assembled breadcrumb and, in some SDKs, an optional hint. The function can modify the breadcrumb or decide to discard it entirely by returning null:

@AbhiPrasad Thank you but i need just not attach breadcrumbs to error if breadcrumb and error refer to different incoming requests

Gotcha - are you using our Express request handler? This should make sure that the correct breadcrumbs are being attached

@AbhiPrasad Yes, i use this. But for some reason all the breadcrumbs are attached (from other requests).

I think this is due to the fact that the error is caught and sent to sentry manually (using hub.captureException()). Can I somehow manually bind the breadcrumb (or error) to the request?

Do I have to mark the hub as the main one?

At the moment i just use manually created hub (not marked as main) and my code just use hub.addBreadcrumb() method

Why are you using a custom hub here? Each request should get a unique hub you can use if you use the Sentry request handler.

@AbhiPrasad i also use manually created client. Can i create a hub for each request manually?
