As the Needlepoint (opsz 1200) requires a large type size for the testing I let myself to lower the testing optical size to opsz 120.
Basic Cyrillic UC
З - I wonder if it can be slightly narrowed.
Ж in the wght 960 - this is suble, but I’m wondering if the bottom legs could be made just a touch thinner, and by this same action the bottom counters could be slightly widened.
Basic Cyrillic SMCP
п (smcp) - seem to be a little wide compared to н (smcp). This is more subtle than in opsz 5.
ц (smcp) - in wght 360 wdth 50 looks nicely matched with the width of п (smcp). In the wght 360 wdth 150 ц (smcp) is perhaps a little narrow. In all widths of wght 900 ц (smcp) seem slightly wide compared to н (smcp).
Serbian
ЉЊљњ - this note appears in UPRIGHT OPSZ 5 issue and applies to the whole design space.
I have noticed that the bowls in ЉЊљњ in Playfair employ significantly lower and smaller form compared to the bowls in Ьь. I had a conversation about this with a native Serbian designer, Jovana Jocić a while ago. Her recommendation was to align the size of the bowl in ЉЊљњ as closely as possible to the bowl in Ьь. Personally, I often use a technique of subtly narrowing the bowl in ЉЊљњ, as well as the counters in ЛлНн. This allows me to reduce the activity of these wide characters in the overall rhythm. However, I strive not to excessively lower the bowl present in these characters, if possible. It might be a challenge to reconcile the bar in Њ and њ with the bowl. But maintaining harmony and coherence between the bowls of ЉЊ and ЋЂ is also important, so they should not be too low.
Serbian UC
ЋЂ - the left side of the bar could be touch shorter, and the right side of the bar could extend a little more to the right.
Bulgarian UC
Since it is a large optical size this observation is much milder than in Agate, however I think that Д still appears slightly wide / bright in the overall rhythm.
Bulgarian SMCP
л (smcp) and especially д (smcp) - seem to be slightly wide and bright in text.
ч (smcp) - in wght 900 seems to be on a wide side. But this is subtle.
ф (smcp) - seems to be pretty large in wght 900, but it is not as noticeable in text as in opsz 5.
