It seems that we are supposed to download the videos from YouTube using some tools, but I'm wondering has someone already downloaded the videos, so that we can just copy from them? I really appreciate that!

Most of the videos in this dataset, over 90%, have the Standard Youtube license, at least based on the sample that we probed. So, you would have to ask the owner of the video for permission to download. On top of that, the Youtube Terms of Service agreement says that you can only download videos that have a download link, which may be a fraction of the videos with the Creative Commons license. Based on my research into the availability of these videos, it doesn't seem like anyone has asked any of the owners for permission to download. Based on this, I don't believe anyone can legally download most of the Sports 1M videos. I would love to be wrong here, so please let me know if that is the case.
