Clear instructions... but it's not working

The instructions are clear, but devices that are added (that work just fine in the SmartLife App) do not function at all in HA. I am following the instructions exactly and all appears to go according to plan, but no devices added actually work! I have been working for over 3 hours on this but nothing seems to get it working - the devices just do not respond. HA forum links back to this page andthe forum seems snooty and elitist so no help there :-( After many years of happy HA use, I am loosing the will to continue!
