dash to panel is a very nice application. with the source code of the same application, can you create a vertical panel that can be applied to the right and left edges of the screen?
In the extension settings, there will be a setting for auto-hiding, opening the drawer on mouseover, or pinning. Files with .desktop extension with application shortcuts can be added. Only application symbols will be visible. Different shortcuts can be added for each workspace. You will be able to run any application in any workspace by clicking on the shortcut application icon in the left panel. In which workspace you want to run which application, you will be able to add the shortcut icon of that application to the left panel in that workspace. you will specify application shortcuts specific to each workspace. you will choose the applications for each workspace. Also, if you launch an application from the “Show Applications” button or from the “search for an application” section opened by pressing the Super key, the application you open will start in the workspace you specified with the left panel. You can turn this setting off if you wish. gnome shell for fedora 40 workstation will also work in version 46.
I have started a project on this. You can either support this project or I can hand it over to you:

You can apply the same system in dash to panel. Dash to panel creates separate panels for each workspace, and application shortcuts specific to that workspace can be added to each dash to panel. If that app is run from apps or search for apps, the app will run in the preset workspace. You can also add this as a feature. It would be a very useful feature.
