Describe the bug

  • Extension automatically disabled
  • The panel becomes corrupted and shows fewer items (e.g. the date area is completely missing)

Occurs under X11 and Wayland

I have the panel at the bottom of the screen. I can "fix" the error by moving the panel to the top and then back to the bottom. That seems to reset it. However the error remains in the extensions list.

Even if I manage to recover from the error, it returns after reboot or sleep.

Error:

TypeError: panelManager is null

Linux distribution and version
Ubuntu 24.04

GNOME Shell version
46.0

Dash-to-Panel version
64

Where was Dash-to-Panel installed from?
GNOME extensions website

As already mentioned in the linked issue, it seems multi-monitor is a factor in this problem. Also, the "fix" I mentioned above doesn't always work.

The only foolproof solution is to restart; then it works perfectly until the first time I suspend. Not a workable solution of course.

Let me know if I can do any diagnostic testing, to help find the error...
