Thanks Sydney! Yes, I am wondering if we need a "Lesson 1b. Data Exploration", which in my mind is a powerpoint lecture to set the students up for Lab 1 Data Exploration. It would basically:

1. Describe the models and data: Provide a brief overview of the NWM, define the cobalt gages and the associated gages-II attributes that are read in. We could also point to the CONUS404 recordings for people interested in the forcings being developed. This could also go later in Lesson 2, but might fit better here.
2. Demonstrate (using screenshots) what is to come in the lab.

I think this would help the eval tutorial to stand alone, and wouldn't take a lot of time (it's not a lot of slides). I can put this together if this sounds good. We could do it as a tag-team lesson, after Lesson 1a. Pangeo, if that seems appropriate.
