The project is going no where with the crossplatform goals it took few years ago. The primary reason being the backend. The data storage on the device is fine, but that ruins it for those of us who use multiplatform. And with multiplatform there is a requirement for Sync. And with Sync we need selfhosting
To make it multiplatform the project has to make the backend/database selfhoted. There is no way out !!
However the temporary thing that the devs here can do is atleast support some sort of APIs for opensource filestorage services like nextcloud, chibisafe etc to directly upload the exports of "Full Backup", "Export CSV" using the POST APIs regularly so that the data can be updated to a server in close to realtime.
