Presplitting mesh and Manual Periodic boundaries

Hello,
Currently I have a large mesh for which, when I try to run a problem with pre-split mesh and manual periodic boundaries, I get this error

Hello

You should first try using the distributed mesh option, passing --distributed-mesh on the command line.

Pre-splitting the mesh is used to pay once the cost of partitioning then be able to skip that step later on. Distributing the mesh is the real memory saver here.

This error seems like something you are trying to use is not implemented. Can you try the automatic periodic boundary conditions?

and --use-distributed-mesh runs out of memory

What are all these variables? All Lagrange first order or anything different?

Have you tried running this case in serial or with very few processes with a replicated mesh?
