AlphaVantage apparently let you perform 500 requests per day at a max rate of 5 per minute. This means that you need to do 1 request every 12 seconds minimum and depending on the epic list size, the 500 requests wall can be reached very easily.

IG has a limitation in the amount of datapoint per account per week (10k)

Need to find a good source (possibly free) to fetch past market prices for london markets

I am using Yahoo Finance in another project and I was planning to use that here too. It's seems reliable and without limitations.
What you posted looks interesting too, thanks. Do you know if it support global markets or only US ones?

I didn't know Yahoo Finance still has API, thought they were deprecated a few years ago.
IEX is the most interesting finance project out there with clean and simple APIs with data I haven't found anywhere else. Try looking in here https://iexcloud.io/docs/api/#international-symbols and then use the symbol in https://iexcloud.io/docs/api/#book

Yes i fought that too, then I found this project https://github.com/ranaroussi/yfinance.
IEX seems really well done, I am interested in the support of UK LSE market so I'll give it a try.
I saw that for International Symbols the documentation mentions "Currently International symbols only have End of Day prices." so will see.
Thank you for the suggestion, much appreciated!
