Installation for Macintosh
-
Download the file for Jamulus (eg Jamulus-3.4.4-mac.zip)
-
Double-click on the .zip file, which will create new folder of same name. The folder contains the license file and a .dmg file containing the application.
-
Double-click the .dmg file to open it. You will see a single file: drag it to your Applications folder.
-
Now you should be able to use it just like any other application. You can add it to your Dock if you want.
-
You can remove the folder in the Downloads directory containing the .dmg file. It is no longer needed.
The first time you try to double-click Jamulus to open it, you will probably see a message saying it cannot be opened.
To fix this, click on Jamulus in the Applications folder, right-click (or control-click), and select Open from the top of the menu.
You will then get a slightly different version of the same message, which allows you to click Open and go ahead with running it. You will not be shown this warning on subsequent opens, and you can now double-click it to open it.
For the remaining steps in setting up and configuring Jamulus on your Mac, read this excellent guide by Simon Tomlinson on Facebook.
