UHD unable to be decrypted in docker, works with same drive on Windows

I am running this docker container in Unraid. I can see that internet access is working because

[cont-init   ] 55-makemkv.sh: checking for new beta key...
[cont-init   ] 55-makemkv.sh: registration key already up-to-date.

works correctly, and when I run /opt/makemkv/bin/makemkvcon info I can see that it downloads the SDF file.

However, this always ends up failing with this error:

but simply moving the USB cable over to my windows PC and opening MakeMKV it is able to download and decrypt the disk successfully. Wanting to see if anyone knows or can help me understand why this is occurring

do you have both sr0 and sgx exposed to the container? look in the log for the correct sgX to pass

I made the container privileged so it would have access to everything in /dev/

I tried removing privileged and just mapping in the specific devices I put below but it is the same result

open the console of the container and paste this:
/etc/cont-init.d/./54-check-optical-drive.sh
and hit enter
it will return something like this:
looking for usable optical drives...
found optical drive [/dev/sr0, /dev/sg5], group 19.

in my case it 's sr0 and sg5

so edit your docker and add the mappings:

not sure if this is relevant, but when I run /opt/makemkv/bin/makemkvcon info it is not until the second time that it says it is pulling SDF, but after doing this it fails the same as before

try deleting the docker and the template and reinstall it from the community app plugin, i have been using this docker forever, still works perfectly, and im using the same drive and firmware as you

Very odd, I will try that. So when MakeMKV goes to install the downloaded key for a UHD blu ray, where is that stored? Is it stored in /config (mapped to /appdata/MakeMKV) or does it get deleted when the container is restarted?

I tried taking my _private_info.tgz (I believe that is what it is called, on mobile right now) from windows and put it into /appdata/MakeMKV/data but it still failed, I can't tell if this is some sort of network issue or some sort of issue where the key isn't being read for some reason.

your issue is not related to key downloading, it has to do with the container not talking to the drive correctly!

here is the correct way to add the devices:

1 for srX and 1 for sgX
