Script to use any note as a random table.

Hello !

First of all, I must say that I really like this plugin. I also play rpgs and this tool is a wonderful addition to my toolkit.
So. after a bit of scripting today I've made a thing and thought to myself that it might be of use to other people as well.

It's a bit simple but can be quite powerful.
With it you can use any regular ol'note as a random table, each line act as an entry for the random table.
No coding, formatting or anything really is needed.

There's three variation of outputs (line, list, table) and you can tell it how many rolls to generate.

Nice work!
The next release of Inline Scripts (sometime next week) is going to have something somewhat similar, but I like this. I especially like the different format options that you have provided.

Yeah, I did add quotes to the name, the function is called correctly but the regex to strip the quotes after seems to be incorrect.

$1 = ($1.match(/\"[^\"]\"/)) ? $1.slice(1, -1) : $1; this line (840) to be exact.

the result is that the script return an error:
did not find "resources/random/list of names".md

FYI: the latest branch of the library does rely on updates to the latest plugin (which isn't released at this point) so there may be some issues, especially around ui visualizations.
However that doesn't seem to be the problem here. I've made some updates to the latest library. Would you mind importing the latest again to see if you are still seeing the issue?

Oh, no worries. I had it fixed on my end to play a bit with it.
I can wait for the final version, take your time !

I just copied the raw content of the tablefiles.sfile.md to my vault to take a look at how it worked and saw that small bug.

That said I tried the latest version of the shortcut file and couldn't get it to work anymore, the add command says it functions but when I try to roll, it doesn't seem to have imported the table, and when I close the roll window, the vault freeze.

If it's of any use to you, I replicated that bug in a test vault. (see attachment)

FYI - The new release is out, along with the finished tablefiles system. It should resolve the bug that you saw and posted in the test vault.

Yes I seen that, everything works like a charm.
I really like the new ui for tables! very handy.
