How to bind a shortcut to a hotkey ?

Is there a way to bind a shortcut to a hotkey ? It would be really nice.

Ooh! Good idea! I'm not sure if the hotkey system is setup to let you assign hotkeys for user-defined actions like that, though. I'll look into this for the next major release.

Idk, I saw that in other plugins there a some way to make shortcut ; but i am a new Obsidian user. I guess it is possible since it seems to be a really permissive tool.

A plugin can certainly add new commands, which hotkeys can then be assigned to. However, the commands are usually predefined rather than user created (like shortcut commands would have to be).
If you do know of a plugin that lets you add user defined commands, then It'd be really useful to know about. If not, then that's fine as I'll be looking into it next month.

I can think of one option, which would certainly work: creating a predefined command which lets you hit a subsequent key bound to a shortcut. For instance: say you assign the hotkey of "ctrl-shift-s" to the command, then you assign the "b" key to the hi shortcut. This would mean that hitting "ctrl-shift-s" followed by the "b" key would trigger the hi shortcut.

I know two ways which let you define as many commands as you want :

• with Regex Pipeline : you can define several files which each contains a set of regex ; then a command is created for each file (+1 for all files) which applies the set of regex to the selected text (or the whole text if nothing selected).
• with Shell Commands (or in the same way, with QuickAdd) : you can define commands in the settings. I think this approach is better.
  In both cases, you can bind any command to a hotkey.

Basically, I think that you need to add a command (this.addCommand) each time you press "Add shortcut" in Inline Script, with perhaps some error processes in the callback.

Yeah, your right. It's pretty easy to dynamically add a command. Not so easy to remove one, but I can work around that.
I'll be making a shortcut-file in the library to add and remove shortcut commands as part of the new release, which I'll be starting next month.

It may not be necessary to deals with command removal if it can be done by restarting Obsidian. I guess we can accept to develop our inline scripts and then restart Obsidan once since we are not developing commands every day.
