How would I use mic and speaker?

I recently found Kaluma and have been very interested in it since im good at JS but not the greatest at python. Im trying to build a project that uses a mic and speaker and I cant seem to find any documentation on it. Help would be appreciated

What exactly are you looking to do? I've used a speaker to play some sounds using a DFPlayer and you could theoretically record a microphone on the ADC of the pi pico, but it's only 12-bit and I'm not sure what frequency you could realistically sample at.

I am trying to make a voice ai assistant using a raspberry pi pico. Im not quite sure how to record voice clips to be uploaded to my server though and download responses to be played on the speaker since I'm not familiar with the raspberry pi pico

Ah yeah, for that I'd probably opt more for a raspi zero or something, the pi pico is more ofn an MCU and while you CAN do some cool stuff with it, it might be hard. You'd have to sample the analog inputs and figure out a way to write those inputs to a file or stream them.

With a pi zero W you could probably do it all in a really quick python script!

Maybe someone else can chime in though, but that's probably the tool I'd use for what you're looking to do
