Can I use a USB headset on Raspberry pi for Jamulus directly, without interface like Behringer? #11

As long as the headset's built-in audio interface can support 48k, it
should be plug-and-play compatible. I've tested low-cost Plantronics and
Sennheiser headsets with great results.

It was a slow morning, and I had an old Logitech USB headset sitting in the bin, so I tried it. It works, but had a loud hum. I tried the old trick of grounding the PI mic sleeve to house ground through a resistor and that tamed it. The latency sounded pretty significant. I'd expect these units were tailored to voice intelligibility, so response might be less than ideal for music. regards, Neal |
